Advanced Preparation

• The bubble solution must be prepared before the activity
• 1 gallon of distilled water + 12 oz dish soap + 1 oz Glycerol
• 3 5-gallon buckets of soap solution must be created for the activity
• Rinse the bubble wands and tubs extensively to eliminate dirt and bubble solution from the previous year’s Science Carnival.

For “Standing in a bubble”:

• Plastic tarp with bubble solution and large ring with handle set up for bubble chamber
• Stand on tarp and another person lifts ring with solution to surround person standing with a bubble

 

For other bubble activities:

• Use different sized bubble wands and rings to create a variety of bubbles
• Use scented bubbles to create bubbles that smell
• Dip square bubble wand into bucket to create a cube
• Use garland wand to create multiple large bubbles at once

Possibly test different bubble solutions to see which create better characteristics of the bubbles
