About

Now that it’s the fall, you may have spotted some owls around your neighborhood.  Have you ever wondered what they eat?  Owls are very interesting because unlike us, they swallow their food whole.  Their bodies form pellets, which generally contain the complete skeletons of their prey! This activity includes the dissection of an owl pellet! You can see for yourself what a particular owl has eaten and by help of a chart, you can help put together skeletons of an owls prey!  Upon completion of this activity, you will learn about food webs, ecosystems and what makes an owls digestive route different than ours!
