During the Bubble-Mania activity, kids will make various bubbles using specialty bubble solution mixtures. Kids will be able to see various bubble sizes and shapes, along with the opportunity to be able to stand inside a bubble. Most importantly, they will be able to learn the chemistry behind the bubble. During the activity, the kids will be able to learn about the hydrophobic/hydrophilic interactions of soap and water, how surface tension plays a role, the ability to have a low surface area, light diffraction through the bubbles, and the hydrogen bonds made by glycerol that helps make stronger and longer lasting bubbles.
