Ever wonder how the heart pumps blood throughout your body? Or how your lungs can take in air and supply oxygen to all the rest of your vital organs? The human body is made up of multiple intricate systems that ultimately work together to allow for the performance of both basic and complex biological functions. These include the digestive, respiratory, and reproductive systems just to name a few, and for this activity students will focus on using clay to recreate the cardiovascular system. This activity will allow students to create their very own model of the cardiovascular system that includes both the heart and major veins and arteries. The students will have the opportunity to make their diagrams as simple or as complex as possible, and best of all they can take their creations home!
